November's Silver Anniversary Message from Historian, Cynde Mutryn, Highlights UPWC's Special Interest Groups

Since UPWCs inception 25 years ago, special interest groups (SIGs), which meet monthly and are open to all active UPWC members, have been an important source of socialization, knowledge-building, fun and enjoyment.  

The first 11 SIGs in 2001-2002 included Arts and Crafts, Book Club, Bridge, Couples Dining Out, Gardening, Investment Club, Mah-Jongg, Needlework, Out-to-Lunch Bunch, Theatre Group and Video & Movie Group. 

UPWC members have always been encouraged to propose ideas for forming new SIGs; during the first few years, as unique interests evolved, some of these originals were dropped and others were added (Canasta, Golf, Bunco, the Park Larks choral group, and Ladies Night Out).
