Outreach Organizations

The purpose of the Outreach Committee is to provide opportunities for our membership to give back to the broader community in which they live. We identify local organizations that will benefit from both financial support and the involvement of our members. In choosing an organization, the committee considers many factors, including whether there are volunteer opportunities for members, and response to current community needs. The UPWC funds a minimum of two (2) organizations each year for a period of two (2) consecutive years. Our financial contributions to these organizations are a result of collaboration with our Ways and Means Committee which is responsible for raising funds to support our selected nonprofit organizations.

We have supported a variety of organizations through the years, including the Bradenton Police Care Card Program, HOPE Family Services, the Just for Girls Academy, SPARCC (Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center), Mothers Helping Mothers, PACE (Practical Academic Cultural Education), Manatee Children’s Services, Food Bank of Manatee, Children’s Guardian Fund, Habitat for Humanity, and many others. More than $100,000 plus numerous volunteer hours have been contributed to these organizations in our first twenty years.

We are supporting two organizations for the current membership year: the Women's Resource Center, whose mission is to engage, enrich, and empower women of all generations and Feeding Empty Little Tummies, dedicated to feeding Manatee County’s most needy homeless and food insecure students.

The University Park Women’s Club is an all volunteer organization independent of the University Park Community Association and the University Park Country Club.  Please note that UPWC regularly posts pictures on our website taken at our public events.
