Website Update

If you recently had difficulty accessing the UPWC website, the interruption was caused by a communication issue with the domain hosting provider.    The matter has now been resolved (Monday, 6/29) and the site is fully operational.

We have taken steps to prevent a similar situation in the future and expect reliable service moving forward.

PRESIDENT'S WELCOME

Welcome to the University Park Women’s Club.

As President of UPWC for 2026–2027, I am delighted to introduce you to our vibrant organization of more than 500 women. Since its founding, the Club has brought women together in a spirit of friendship, inclusion, and service, and those values continue to guide us today.

UPWC offers countless opportunities to connect with neighbors, make new friends, and pursue shared interests. Our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) cover everything from books, cooking, and wine discovery to birding, art, fiber arts, games, mahjongg, and much more. New groups are added as members share their interests and ideas.

In addition to our SIGs, members enjoy social outings, educational programs, monthly Marvelous Mondays, and quarterly meetings featuring outstanding speakers and special events. Whether you are looking to learn something new, become more involved in your community, or simply have fun with an engaging group of women, there is a place for you at UPWC.

Service is also at the heart of our mission. This year, we are proud to support Feeding Empty Little Tummies (FELT) and Mothers Helping Mothers, while providing members with opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.

I invite you to explore our website and discover all that UPWC has to offer. If you have questions or would simply like to learn more, please feel free to contact me.

We would love to welcome you to the University Park Women’s Club.

Heidi Goff
President, 2026–2027

Information about UPWC

UPWC was founded in 2001, beginning with 89 members.  Today with over 500 members, our purpose is to provide opportunities for Friendships, Activities, Community and Service.   Our event filled year includes:

Four General Meetings/Luncheons with interesting programs and a “happy hour” to get to know each other before lunch. This year these occur in October, December, April and June.

A Special Event or Fashion Show with the purpose of raising funds for our community partners.

Twenty-two Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) that meet regularly to enable members with similar interests to gather, learn, have fun, and participate in meaningful activities.

Three or four social events are held each year, including trips to the theater, art museums, community architecture tours, and backstage tours.

Each year we review the many organizations in our area and decide how best to focus our Community Engagement efforts. The two charities in the 2026-2027 year are Mothers Helping Mothers (MHM) and F.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies). Mothers Helping Mothers provides essential necessities, resources and support to families in need with children under 18 or who are currently pregnant, and F.E.L.T. provides weekend food for the most needy children in Manatee schools.  In 2025-2026, the UPWC donated over $42,000 to our local outreach partners. For more about past recipients of UPWC outreach, please see out Community Engagement section.

MISSION STATEMENT
