Community Engagement provides opportunities for our membership to give back to the broader community in which we live. We identify and vet worthy local organizations based on site visits and detailed criteria, including volunteer opportunities, our ability to make an impact, and current community needs. The UPWC funds a minimum of two organizations each year for a period of two consecutive years, with the option to add a third year.
We support two organizations for the current membership year:
Mothers Helping Mothers (MHM) a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing essential necessities, resources and support to families in need with children under 18 or are currently pregnant throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties.
Feeding Empty Little Tummies, a 501(C)3 non-profit organization dedicated to feeding Manatee County's most needy homeless and food insecure students.
