WOMEN'S HEALTH
Chair: Julie Cotton

Most of us are the age where staying healthy (both physically and psychologically) becomes both more important and more challenging. The better informed we are, the more we can take good care of ourselves and make good decisions for ourselves. We meet monthly with one or two of us leading the conversation and occasionally inviting a professional (preferably female) to be our guest. Some of the topics we plan to learn more about include:

  • Best approaches to staying fit
  • Best approaches to weight loss

  • Finding and keeping balance in our Lives

  • How to find the right doctor

  • New approaches to breast cancer treatment

  • Relationships with husbands, children, grandchildren

  • Preventing and treating heart disease

  • Making good decisions before and after surgery

  • Creating a support network

  • End of life decisions

  • Helping others through tough times
  • On line resources
  • Local resources/referrals
  • Skin cancer
  • Pampering ourselves without guilt
  • Cataract surgery

Prompted by the unexpected and untimely death of our friend and member, Patti Doench, our next topic will be Planning for our Own End of Life.

Please go to the Aging with Dignity website http://www.agingwithdignity.org/five-wishes.php and complete either the paper or online version of Five Wishes prior to our meeting.

We will meet in the Varsity Club Card Room from 11:00-12:30 on February 13th followed by lunch at the Club if you can stay. Please RSVP to Julie Cotton by February 6th
